Good Morning Friends. Each month I’d like to give back to all of my biggest Fans and to my friends, who like me own their own Custom businesses. I know I’m not alone in saying I LOVE being a Mom, a Wife, and owning my own businesses. The dreams we have always had of being able to get our kids on and off the bus each day, being able to volunteer our time at our Children’s Schools, our Church, etc. is what we work so hard for each and every day to make it all possible. To be able to live this dream and do what we LOVE!!!!
Coming from a previous full time job in the mortgage industry to owning my own photography business in the past 7 months is a dream come true for me and I am grateful to God every day for giving me this opportunity and the gift of photography. Ever since I can remember as a young girl, I knew I own my own company one day, I just wasn’t sure what it was until this past year.
Each month I will feature a locally owned business who I will call my “Business Partners” because we are all invested in each other to help one another be successful doing what we love most. For the month of June, I am featuring a very close friend. We go back to our college days at Mary Baldwin College. This gal even grew up living in the house right behind my husband. What a small world!
Formal Introductions to my great Friend, Lee-Ann Falvo with Bella Petit Custom Embroidery!!!!
Below is my interview with Lee-Ann:
Lee-Ann tell us all a little bit about yourself:
I was born and raised in Midlothian Va, I am a wife and mother of 2 kids, ages 7 and 9. I enjoy being outdoors, running, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and cooking. If I wasn’t involved with embroidery I would love to be an interior decorator or a chef. Lee-Ann, I can totally see this with how nice your house is decorated and your absolutely beautiful kitchen. You are so hip and fun and it shows in your embroidery work as well!
How and when did you decide to start your own business? I love hearing everyone’s personal stories of how their dream jobs started!
Bella Petit was started in the summer of 2007 after months of pondering getting my feet back in the work force. After a lot of crazy business ideas, I literally woke up one night tapped my husband on the shoulder while sleeping and told him that I wanted to start an embroidery business. He thought I was talking in my sleep because only 6 months prior I had taught myself how to use a sewing machine. I had no prior knowledge of embroidery before this!! I researched machines, products and pricing and within 3 months had a business up and running.
What type of service do you provide and what products do you sell?
I provide embroidery services including monogramming, personalization, logo design and logo digitizing for individuals, small businesses and athletic clubs. I offer a wide variety of products on my website www.bellapetit.com as well as custom embroidery of your existing items as well.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that I get to be creative with colors and textures, and make decorating personal! Being able to work at home while raising my children is the best part of my job. I enjoy having the ability show them that work can be fun and rewarding. I totally agree with this last statement Lee-Ann. My kids run around the house with toy cameras, Itouch’s, and my old film cameras pretending to be photographers themselves and it just warms my heart to know that maybe, just maybe one day I’ll have some little assistants running around! I’ve even tried to find a children’s photography class or camp that they would love to join. My oldest got her first camera last year and now my 4 year old wants one for Christmas this coming year. And I have seen firsthand how creative your daughter is and she is a mini Lee-Ann for sure! 100% sure!
Lee-Ann so generously would like to offer a 15% discount to anyone who would like to place an order through her during the month of June after mentioning this article. Please mention this article when placing your order with her so she will know you saw her feature on my website.
Lee-Ann’s website and email address:
I just LOVE walking into to Lee-Ann’s office in her home and seeing all the neat stuff she has been doing. My favorites I’ve seen lately are the embroidered Pool/Beach Towels, monogrammed insulated coffee mugs, tennis bags, the adorable bathing suits and clothing, down to the sweet bibs and burp cloths that are given at so many baby showers we go to. Her work is amazing and is top quality. Lee-Ann also does a lot of work for Sassy Bee, a locally owned Retail and Tennis shop in town. Please check out her website and remember your discount for the month of June – 15% off. Mention photography so she will know you came from her featured article here at Ainsley Marie Photography.
Below is a picture of Lee-Ann from one of her previous shows. Thanks so much Lee-Ann for allowing me to share your story!

Until then, enjoy your summer. School is almost out here and I’m so excited to be able to spend my first summer at home with my girls and enjoy photographing the families, kids, expecting mommas and their newborn babes! Thanks to you all for letting me live MY DREAM! I am so blessed!
